Reproduction of the WWII Tuskegee airman 332nd FG. While the 99th Squadron fought alone in mid-43, Benjamin O. Davis returned to Selfridge Field to form and command the 332nd Fighter Group which would be composed of the 99th, 100th, 301st and 302nd Fighter Squadrons. The Group deployed in P-40's and later transitioned to P-51 Mustangs while at Ramitelli, Italy. The Group painted all the tails of their Mustangs red and were the only Group to never lose a Bomber to enemy fighter action while performing escort duty. The unit survives today as the deployed combat group in Kuwait.
